The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) is set to present Dubai's innovative tourism offerings at the 31st Arabian Travel Market (ATM) from 6-9 May 2024. The event will feature 129 key partners and stakeholders, highlighting Dubai's collaborative spirit and its strategic focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

Under the theme 'Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship,' DET aims to showcase how Dubai's tourism industry has embraced innovation and sustainability, paving the way for growth beyond traditional tourism. This aligns with Dubai's ambitious goals outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aiming to solidify Dubai's status as a top global business and leisure destination.

The event will witness participation from government entities, hotels, destination management companies, and tour operators, emphasising Dubai's strong public-private partnerships. Key partners include the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA-Dubai), Dubai Culture, Dubai Holding, and Dubai Health Authority.

Sharing details, Issam Kazim, CEO, Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), highlighted Dubai's resilience and leadership in the global tourism landscape. He emphasised the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in driving tourism growth, in line with Dubai's 10-year economic development roadmap.

"In keeping with the transformative theme of this year’s show, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and our partners will highlight the pivotal role that entrepreneurship and innovation have played in driving tourism growth, aligned seamlessly with our D33 Agenda, the city’s 10-year roadmap for economic development," he added.

"Today, we approved the designs for the new passenger terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport, and commencing construction of the building at a cost of AED 128 billion as part of Dubai Aviation Corporation's strategy," Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, said on X.


Dubai's tourism achievements were highlighted, with a record 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023 and continued momentum in 2024. The city's recognition as the top global destination for the third consecutive year by Tripadvisor further underscores Dubai's appeal and diverse offerings.

The Dubai College of Tourism, part of DET, will leverage ATM to promote its full-time programs and 'Dubai Way,' an innovative training platform for tourism sector professionals. Sustainability initiatives, including the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp and the Dubai Can movement, will also be showcased, reflecting Dubai's commitment to preserving natural resources and enhancing visitor experiences.

The ATM Hosted Buyers Programme, Dubai's diverse gastronomy scene, ongoing events like the Dubai Food Festival, and upcoming attractions such as Dubai Summer Surprises will also be highlighted at the event, showcasing Dubai's year-round appeal to tourists and industry professionals alike.
